Run Rome The Marathon 2027
As an official tour operator for Run Rome The Marathon, Race Beyond offers guaranteed access to one of Europe’s most iconic races, attracting runners from around the world to experience the Eternal City on foot.
Starting beside the Colosseum on Via dei Fori Imperiali, the course passes many of Rome’s most famous landmarks, including Piazza Venezia, the Circus Maximus, St Peter’s Basilica, Piazza del Popolo, the Spanish Steps and Piazza Navona, before finishing inside the Circus Maximus. The race is a partner event of the Abbott World Marathon Majors.
Stay at citizenM Rome Isola Tiberina, a stylish modern hotel in the historic centre of Rome. Located beside the River Tiber, the hotel is approximately a 20-minute walk from the marathon start on Via dei Fori Imperiali and around a 12–15-minute walk from the finish inside the Circus Maximus. Its contemporary rooms, XL king beds and vibrant shared spaces make it a convenient base for both race weekend and exploring Rome.

What You Can Expect
Itinerary
Day 1 – Thursday, March 11
Arrival, Check-In & Welcome Drinks
Arrive in Rome and make your own way to citizenM Rome Isola Tiberina for check-in. The Race Beyond team will be available to assist and answer any questions.
The rest of the day is free to settle in and begin exploring Rome. In the evening, join the group for welcome drinks at the hotel.
Day 2 – Friday, March 12
Ancient Rome Tour & Marathon Expo
After breakfast, join our guided tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill, exploring some of Ancient Rome’s most iconic landmarks with an expert local guide.
There will be time to rest and have lunch before our coordinated visit to the Marathon Expo to collect race bibs. The remainder of the day is free to explore Rome or relax at the hotel.
Day 3 – Saturday, March 13
Pre-Race Preparation & Pasta Dinner
Start the day with an optional shakeout run, offering a relaxed opportunity to loosen the legs before race day.
The remainder of the day is free to rest, explore Rome.
In the evening, join the group for the pre-race pasta dinner.
Day 4 – Sunday, March 14
Race Day
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before making the short journey to the marathon start on Via dei Fori Imperiali, beside the Colosseum.
Run the Rome Marathon through the heart of the Eternal City before finishing inside the Circus Maximus, approximately 12–15 minutes’ walk from the hotel.
After the race, join us for post-race drinks and celebrations.
Day 5 – Monday, March 15
Departure
Enjoy breakfast before checking out of the hotel. Depart Rome or continue your travels through Italy and Europe.
